Personal Strength And Silence In Virtual Reality.

IKAROS is a VR adventure game where your identity is not spelled out explicitly, but made given, through certain events, to you. The game features a number of different puzzles, most reasonably easy, but excels in its implementation of various virtual reality features. It requires a 2.8 x 2.8 play area to complete.

An Adventure Of Questions

Without giving too much away, IKAROS provides a sequence of events and leaves you to interpret them, but they are certainly grisly to an extent. You might not care much for the story in any case: the game does impressive things with virtual reality, from strong room scaling to skillful sampling of motion. Even those who normally get nausea playing VR might give IKAROS a try. The game's palette is full of blues and greys, so adjusting the brightness is all you might need to do, though the brightness slider isn't extremely helpful on some devices.

What Will You Try To Do?

IKAROS is as much a setpiece as an adventure, and it's good to show to people who haven't seen or who are skeptical of virtual reality. The game is short, but that's fine. If you like adventure games and VR, and that's a common combination, IKAROS is worth a look.
